Online casino and sportsbook operator, Betway Limited, has announced that it has been granted ISO 27001 certification by the United Kingdom’s eCommerce Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance (eCOGRA) testing agency.

Evidence of data security:

The iGaming firm holds licenses from regulators in Malta, Denmark, Ireland, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom and used an official press release to describe the designation as ‘the worldwide standard for information security’ that serves as evidence of its ‘commitment to handling customer data safely and securely.’

Future benefits:

Betway Limited is responsible for the domains at Betway.com, HippodromeOnline.com, DreamBingo.com, SpinCasino.co.uk and BingoOnTheBox.com and it detailed that ISO 27001 certification will help it to ‘tighten, improve and secure third-party supplier contracts and management’ while additionally making it easier to gain licenses in new jurisdictions.

Operator ‘going above and beyond’:

Anthony Werkman, Chief Executive Officer for Betway Limited, declared that he was ‘delighted’ with the certification from the London-headquartered testing agency as the award is evidence that his firm is ‘going above and beyond when it comes to protecting the security of our customers’ data.’

“Many of the technical standards of a Great Britain gambling license are incorporated into ISO 27001 and we believe it is the right direction of travel for us as a responsible operator.
